| Agricultural Affairs
* the function
of this committee is to enhance the relationship between agriculture & business.
Activities include: Ag Appreciation Luncheon, Friend of Ag Award,
sponsorship of showmanship plaques at Delaware County Fair, Farm Safety Camp for
7th Graders, Tours and Support of the Delaware County Value-Added Ag Program. Ambassadors
* the ambassadors serve as the goodwill and hospitality arm of the Chamber. Activities
include: Presentations at business grand openings, expansions, remodeling
projects and present first dollar certificates to new businesses. The ambassadors
also sponsor an Annual Golf Outing, as well as assisting with the retention and
recruitment of existing and new businesses. Downtown Design
* this
committee assists with the Downtown Incentive Program by reviewing loan and grant
applications to improve business properties in the downtown. Historic preservation,
retention and recruitment of businesses is the goal of this program. DREAM
& DREAM +
* the focus of this committee is to develop a long-range
community enhancement plan that would benefit the whole community. Education
* the function of this committee is to foster the relationship between business
and education through participation in the S.T.E.P. 1 - Job Shadowing Program
(Student, Teacher, Employer Partnership.) The committee is also active in the
Maquoketa Valley and West Delaware School to Work initiatives, and participate
on the Career Alliance Committee to develop partnerships between business, education
and workforce development. Industrial Relations
* the function
of this committee is to enhance and strengthen the relationship between business
and industry through educational tours of County industries. Activities
include: Tours of area industries and industry recognition activities. Leadership
Training
* the function of this committee is to offer a Developing Dynamic
Leaders Program Series with ISU Extension to develop a strong leadership/volunteer
base in the Manchester Area. Membership
* the function of this
committee is to retain and recruit members of the Chamber. Activities
include: Complimentary membership packet to new businesses in the Manchester
area, visits to member businesses, publication of Directory of Members and maintenance
of web site. Retail
* the focus of this committee is to bring
business and dollars to the retail sector through promotions and retail activities. Activities
include: Quarterly promotions, Pride Day, Customer Appreciation Day, Ridiculous
Day, Manchester Main Events, Halloween Parade, Costume Contest, Holiday Open House,
Holiday Window Walk with live animated window displays and an Annual Holiday Promotion.
Tourism Committee
* the function of this committee is to develop
a marketing plan that will promote area attractions and events. Activities
include: Tourism Plan of Action developed. |
